Smart Web Export
Privacy policy
Last updated: 27/09/2026
In short
SmartWebExport publishes your SketchUp models as web links that you share with whoever you choose. To do that, we store your email address and the models you export.
We sell no data, we display no advertising, and we set no trackers on the people you send a link to.
1. Who is responsible for this data
Atelier Créateur, SASU, France, 93376681800019, referred to below as “we”.
Contact for any question about your data: support@lab-atelier.com
2. What we keep, and why
Your account
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify you and send you service messages |
| Password | Stored as a one-way hash. We cannot read it, nor remind you of it — only let you reset it |
| Interface language | To show the extension in your language |
| Confirmation of your address | A flag, and a single-use token valid for 72 hours. The token is erased as soon as it has been used. Until you confirm, the account works but cannot publish anything |
| Subscription plan | To apply the limits of your plan |
| Payment provider customer ID | To link your subscription to your account |
| How you found us | Only if you signed up from our home page: the marker “home page”. It tells us whether that page brings in new users. It is never passed on |
Your models
The exported 3D file, its original filename, the name and tags you give it, your display settings (background, edges, hideable tags, measurement, augmented reality) and the link's expiry date.
These are necessary for the service: without them there is no link to share.
Your branding, on paid plans
The logo you upload and your website address, so they appear on the viewer page in place of ours.
Traffic on your links
For each link, a view counter and the date it was last viewed. These are aggregate numbers: they say nothing about who opened the link.
Visits to our home page
The page acrealab.com/smartwebexport measures its audience with Cloudflare Web Analytics: pages viewed, country, type of device and referring site. No cookie is set, nothing is stored on your device, and no individual profile is built. The measurement script is loaded on that page only — never on the links you share, nor in your account space.
The buttons on that page also let us count, day by day, how many visits to the account space, sign-ups and subscriptions came from it. These are daily totals, with no identifier.
Security
To limit repeated sign-up and sign-in attempts, we count requests by origin. That origin is never stored in the clear — neither your IP address nor your email address. Only a salted hash is written, which we cannot reverse, and a daily task deletes any counter older than one hour.
An open session is represented by a random token, valid for ninety days.
Our host keeps our server's technical logs for a few days, long enough to diagnose a fault. We write neither IP addresses nor complete email addresses into them: where an address appears in a technical message, it is masked, in the form i***@example.com.
What stays on your computer, and never leaves it
Three things are written on your machine and are never sent to us:
| Data | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your session token | SketchUp preferences and the window's local storage | So you don't have to sign in every time |
| Email addresses already entered | The window's local storage | To complete the sign-in field. No password is kept there |
| A diagnostic log | Your system's temporary folder, file swe_trace.log | To understand a failed export. It contains the path of the exported file and figures about its contents. It is overwritten at every export and goes nowhere |
You can remove them at any time: signing out clears the token and the address history, and the log can be deleted like any other temporary file.
3. The people you share a link with
This is the point on which we are strictest.
When someone opens a link you sent:
- no cookie is set;
- no tracker and no third-party analytics tool is loaded;
- their IP address is neither recorded nor passed on;
- nothing allows them to be recognised from one visit to the next.
The only trace is the increment of that link's view counter, which is there for you.
The 3D model itself and, where applicable, your logo, are served from our host. Your visitor therefore downloads those files, like any image on a web page.
The 3D file is only ever delivered through the page. It does not sit at a public address that could be guessed or kept: our server hands it over only on presentation of a short-lived authorisation, which the page carries at the moment it is displayed. The direct consequence, and it is the one that concerns you: as soon as a link is paused, expires or is deleted, the file stops being delivered, not just the page.
4. Who else sees this data
We use three providers, and no others:
| Provider | Role | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, database, file storage, audience measurement of our home page | All of the data above |
| Stripe | Subscription payments | Your billing details. We never see your card number: it is entered on Stripe's side |
| Resend | Sending emails | Your address and the content of the message sent |
These providers are established in the United States. Transfers of data outside the European Union are governed by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
We do not sell, rent or exchange any data. No data is passed on for advertising purposes.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Models, free plan | Published for 7 days, kept 14 days in total, then deleted — file and record alike |
| Models, paid plans | Kept until the link expires, then held 7 days before final deletion |
| Models with no expiry date | Kept for as long as the account exists |
| Sign-in session | 90 days |
| Anti-abuse counters (hashes, no addresses) | 48 hours at most |
| Account | Until you delete it |
Deleting a model erases both the 3D file and the record that accompanies it. A deleted link stops working immediately for the people you sent it to — the page and the 3D file alike.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your data, and to object to its processing.
You can delete your account yourself, from the extension, under Account settings. Doing so erases the account, all your models and all associated files. It is immediate and irreversible: the links you had shared stop working.
For any other request: support@lab-atelier.com. We reply within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés) in France.
7. Legal bases
- Performance of the contract: account, models, settings, billing. Without this data the service cannot work.
- Legitimate interest: limiting abuse, view statistics for your own links, and audience measurement of our home page.
- Legal obligation: retention of billing records, for 10 years.
8. Changes
We may revise this text. The date at the top shows the last revision. A substantial change will be notified to you by email.
