The "Excel" of 3D Modeling.
I switched from heavy aerospace CAD to SketchUp for one reason: Freedom. Then, I built the tools to make it precise.
The Philosophy I started my career on heavy-duty software like Catia V5 and SolidWorks, designing for Airbus and industrial mechanics. These tools are powerful, but rigid. When I discovered SketchUp, I saw something else: absolute freedom of design. I often say that SketchUp is the 'Excel of modeling': deceptively simple, incredibly efficient, and with the right tools, absolutely limitless.
The Automation Journey
My obsession with automation didn't start with code; it started on the factory floor. As Technical Project Manager for the innovative wood system 'BatiPack' and later for Pergola de France, I had to manage complex production workflows. I pushed SketchUp to its limits, creating advanced Dynamic Components to automate quantity surveys and manufacturing plans. I realized that by combining this flexibility with custom automation, we could outperform traditional CAD software.
Who am I ?
Hi, I’m Julien Couzinet. I sit at the intersection of Digital Design and Physical Manufacturing.
I don't just write code behind a screen. My work is grounded in two realities:
-
The Design Office (Agilité 3D): I handle building permits and urban planning daily, navigating complex administrative requirements.
-
The Workshop (Atelier Créateur): I design and manufacture custom furniture, steel staircases, and innovative concepts.
This unique combination means our extensions are field-tested. When I code a tool like Smart Tube or Smart Spline, it’s because I needed it to build a real staircase or design a tangible product.
-
Industrial Rigor: 20 years of experience in Engineering & Manufacturing.
-
Maker Mindset: Tools built by a pro who connects the virtual model to the real object.
